District 9: The Movie

I'm kinda excited about seeing this movie. First of all, I love science fiction movies, especially since all of them show us victorious. Let's forget about the fact that the aliens just flew quazillions of miles into earth's atmosphere- undetected- while we can't even put a man back on the moon. In reality, the systematic elimination of humans as in War of the Worlds seems more realistic to me, but there wouldn't be any need for a sequel, would it?
Anywho, check out this video which I thought was entertaining and go see the flick. I'm sure there will be interesting commentary after viewing the movie to say the least.

Yeah. I know what you're thinking. What does this have to do about Jazzy Lounge radio?
Nothing.

The video seems to work best with Internet Explorer.

Jazzy Lounge Top Twenty Five 08/12/2009

Check out the Jazzy Lounge Top Twenty Five for the week of August 12, 2009. Hitting the top spot for the first time on Jazzy Lounge is Clan Greco's "Rotation (Eric Kupper Remix)" from the Water Music Records compilation L'Aperitivo Italiano Style. This is an uptempo lounge track with jazzy vibes. At number two is Walter Dahn's "Magnificient Montague (Salz Dub-O-Matic Remix)" from the compilation Dub Be Good To Me released by Phazz-a-Delic Records out of Germany. Both Clan Greco and Walter Dahn's tracks were added in the last week in June and in less than eight weeks jumped up the charts to the number one and two spots respectively. At number three is Kevin Mulligan and Jan Walravens' "Swinging To Key Largo" from the double CD Pepper Groove Creations (Red Pepper). This track is definitely for the lounge crowd- bring on the margaritas because there's a lot of nightlife people in the mix. It's ironic that as I write this piece, "Swinging to Key Largo" happens to began playing in rotation while listening to the station. It's a playful piece as you listen to the piano and organ perform a call-and-response routine.
View this week's Top Twenty Five Chart.

Rounding out the top ten are:
4.) Badmarsh & Shri Mountain Path - a global rhythmic groove;
5.) Sofa Attitude Love & Hate - every bit an urban groove;
6.) GXR Groove Diving - a downtempo favorite (familiar with the Top Twenty Five);
7.) Kenton & Hill The Passion - a jazzy lounge groove (no pun intended);
8.) Intuit Supersempft Baby - when you like your down tempo-lounge funkified;
9.) Chuck Love Something Right - smooth, soulful house (this track has it);
10.) Monodeluxe If You Want Me To - cranking out another lounge-tinged top ten groove.

You rank 'em. Listen to Jazzy Lounge radio now to vote for your favorite tracks!

Musicians Can Make Money with Music Online Services

When you are a one man organization, marketing yourself and handling your business affairs can seem insurmountable. One moment you're creating music; the next moment you're promoting; the next moment you're performing. It's both tiresome and rewarding.
Well, to help assist a few artists, when a track is streamed on Jazzy Lounge radio, there are links prospective buyers can click on in their radio player that takes them directly to Amazon.com or MSN.com's purchase page. Usually it links the buyer to the full album or EP; sometimes only to the individual track. This is where I encourage you. Make sure your tracks are registered with online retail music outlets.
Listeners on Live365- and specifically Jazzy Lounge radio- have clicked on the "buy" button next to the track's ID, only to find there's no direct link to the song. By having your song registered with these two outlets, you provide additional exposure and income for yourself.
Points to consider when finalizing your tracks, make sure you maintain the correct ID tags throughout- track name, artist nomenclature, and album name should never, ever vary. Make sure if you name your album Jazzy Lounge that it's not spelled JazzyLounge somewhere else. As Discogs attempt to make themselves the Internet database for all music electronic and beyond, they make every attempt to get accurate information about artists and their releases. Every online retailer desires the same. Stay consistent and uniform. Sometimes songs cannot be linked from Live365's database to Amazon.com's and MSN's music database simply because certain details differ on the posted retail item or it's not listed at all.
So please, please get your tunes registered with the online services that provide you with the greatest outreach but most of all, with the online stores that service my listeners.
